Old Jew Review: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is my current obsession, and I think I’m somewhere around three days of play time all told at this point. But, no one cares what I think about this game for two reasons – I’m not Jewish, and I’m not old. So finally, without further ado, here is what David Brenner thinks about the game.

Worth it to see him talk about his 101st airborne basic training, and then try to do it in the game. “I had trouble moving, and after that I had trouble looking.” (Thanks for the link, Bitta)

Space Asshole vs Mars

This video features some gameplay from Red Faction: Guerrilla, a game where the point is to, apparently, wail on everything you see with a giant goddamn hammer. Sounds right up my alley, and I really liked this soundtrack put together by some gamers. I dug the entire Space Asshole experience, but definitely stick around until the last 20 seconds or so…it really tied the video together. [via Kotaku]

Chatlog: Setting the mood

I’ve decided to start chronicling some of my favorite IM chats. I got the idea from The Best of Sarah, who posted a conversation I was part of, in which i tried threated to make tea out of Morena Baccarin’s underpants.  The restraining order is pending. I figure we’ll start slow with a conversation I may or may not have been part of. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Thing 1: Finally got to play ODST. Pretty badass.

Thing 2: watch the back story?

Thing 1: ha, right. i just start mashing buttons as soon as a movie comes on screen

Thing 2: I like the story. but that’s me

Thing 1: gets in the way of what i bought the game for – which is invariably shooting shit

Thing 2: i bet you fast forward the mood setting stuff in porn too

Thing 1: they talk in porn?

Thing 2: funny. yes, and not just degrading stuff

Thing 1: if i’m watching porn, i’m pretty much in the mood. no “your pizza is here” necessary.

Thing 2: OK, kinda the same way, with porn anyway. but video games are different.

Thing 1: you’re saying you need video game cinematics to fluff you so you can play?
